Founded in 2013 along the Jamuz River in southern León, Fuentes de Silencio derives its name from the abundance of water sources in the area, earning it the moniker "the town of fountains." Led by oenologist Marta Ramas alongside owners Miguel Angel Alonso and Maria Jose Galera, this passionate endeavor focuses on cultivating native grape varieties like Mencía and Alicante Bouschet in meticulously selected plots, including old pre-phylloxera vines that are over a century old.
Mataperezosa is a blend of Palomino and Doña Blanca. This exquisite wine exhibits a refined and graceful character, with delicate notes of white flowers and subtle hints of nectarine. Upon tasting, the Palomino grape's inherent richness emerges, offering a touch of honeycomb and ripe peach flavours, complemented by nuances of pastry influenced by oak. The wine is uplifted by a vibrant and crisp acidity, lending balance and elegance to the finish.
